Our Training Courses
BESS is our main course and the only one where RIG360 delivers full certification. We also run on-site refresher courses for crane, rigging and MEWP crews. Every price is shown in full so there are no surprises when you enquire.
Our Main Course · NZTA-Approved · Full Certification
Required by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) for heavy haulage operators (including crane operators) who need to legally operate heavy vehicles over bridges under an overweight permit. This is the only course where full certification is currently delivered by RIG360.
You must complete the BESS driver application so NZTA can check your licence and driving history.
Application form for drivers →After NZTA accepts your application, contact us to schedule your BESS training and assessment.
We take you through bridge permit conditions, self-supervision rules, and compliance, then complete the assessment.
Once you pass, we submit the assessment outcome to NZTA.
You receive your BESS ID/registration, which legally allows you to self-supervise bridge crossings.
Best done at least 6–8 weeks before your card expires.
Email the completed form to us ahead of time, or complete it and bring it with you on the day.
Application form for renewal →Your driver licence, current BESS ID card, and your completed application form if you haven’t already emailed it to us.
Valid for another 5 years.
